31 species of birds threatened with extinction based on the observation record of 2019

In the Sultanate of Oman, there are 31 species of birds threatened with extinction according to the categories and criteria of the IUCN Red List, and based on the observation record of 2019:

Four birds’ species are critically endangered (CR):
  1. Yellow-breasted Bunting (Emberiza aureola).
  2. Ruppell`s Vulture (Gyps rueppellii).
  3. Sociable Lapwing (Vanellus gregarious).
  4. Slender-billed Curlew (Numenius tenuirostris).
Nine birds’ species are endangered (EN):
  1. Pallas`s Fish Eagle (Haliaeetus leucoryphus).
  2. Egyptian Vulture (Neophron percnopterus).
  3. Lappet-faced Vulture (Torgos tracheliotus).
  4. Steppe Eagle (Aquila nipalensis).
  5. Golden Eagle (Aquila chrysaetos).
  6. Saker Falcon (Falco cherrug).
  7. Cape Gannet(Morus capensis).
  8. Great Knot (Calidris tenuirostris).
  9. Far eastern Curlew (Numenius madagascariensis).
18 birds’ species are vulnerable (VU):
  1. Collared Kingfisher (Todiramphus chloris).
  2. Rustic Bunting (Emberiza rustica).
  3. Macqueen`s Bustard (Chlamydotis macqueenii).
  4. Black-legged Kittiwake (Rissa tridactyla).
  5. European Turtle Dove (Streptopelia turtur).
  6. Greater Spotted Eagle (Aquila clanga).
  7. Eastern Imperial Eagle (Aquila heliacal).
  8. Socotra Cormorant (Phalacrocorax nigrogularis).
  9. Stejneger`s Petrel (Pterodroma longirostris).
  10. Matsudaira`s Storm Petrel (Oceanodroma matsudairae).
  11. Leach`s Storm Petrel (Oceanodroma leucorhoa).
  12. Southern Grey Shrike / Iberian Grey Shrike(Lanius meridionalis).
  13. Java Sparrow (Padda oryzivora).
  14. Indian Skimmer (Rynchops albicollis).
  15. Red-breasted Goose (Branta ruficollis).
  16. Lesser White-fronted Goose (Anser erythropus).
  17. Marbled Duck (Marmaronetta angustirostris).
  18. Common Pochard (Aythya ferina).
